Founded in 2021, X-OTO is a three-wheeled motorcycles and lithium battery two wheeler manufacturer with advanced driving technology. Recently, X-OTO launched a tiltable motorcycle trike to the US market, shipment planned for June 2023. The product features groundbreaking front-wheel drive and a patented self-stabilizing mechanism, ensuring superior control, maneuverability, stability and safety while retaining the joy of riding on sloped road curves.
Regarding the self-stabilizing technology, the two rear wheels are connected to a rear swingarm that moves in unison. This synchronized wheel movement enables X-OTO to lean up to 45° in corners. The low center of gravity combined with the reach and movement of the two rear wheels helps to stay upright in corners and react quickly in emergency situations.
As for the power output, X-OTO is equipped with a 4kW brushless hub motor, which is about 5.3 horsepower. The maximum speed of this scooter can reach 72km/h. Designer Andrea Mocellin recently showcased the Exo-Line, a personal mobility device that “puts the body on the bike”. It’s an exoskeleton-inspired, battery-powered wearable mobility that aims to create an electric mobility experience that brings people back to physical participation.
In terms of vehicle form, Exo-Line is an electric motorcycle trike. The rider needs to drive in a prone position. The upper chest support bears most of the weight of the rider, and the arms move forward to grab the two front wheel struts, control the direction, acceleration and braking through the rocker, and change the direction of the vehicle through body movements, while the feet support on a pair of footpegs next to the rear wheels.
